The Plantation in Venice, FL is one of the biggest and best-value golf communities in Sarasota County. Spread across about 1,300 acres off Jacaranda Boulevard in Venice 34293, it has roughly 2,600 homes, two 18-hole championship golf courses and a full country club, with HOA fees that are often lower than you’d expect for a community this size. In my 25 years selling real estate in Venice, it’s one I recommend again and again: it’s a good neighborhood, priced well.
Golf at The Plantation
Plantation Golf & Country Club has two 18-hole championship courses, the Bobcat and the Panther, both designed by Ron Garl. The club has hosted an LPGA qualifying event every year since 1988, and its practice facilities include a driving range, putting greens and short-game areas.
Club Amenities
- 13 Har-Tru tennis courts, 5 lit for night play
- Pickleball and bocce courts
- Fitness center with group classes
- Heated Junior Olympic-size pool and spa
- Clubhouse with casual and formal dining and a busy social calendar
Club membership is separate from the HOA, and the club offers several membership levels, from full golf to sports and social memberships. Ask me for the current options and fees for the home you’re considering.
Homes in The Plantation
With about 2,600 residences, The Plantation has something for almost every buyer: maintenance-free villas, patio homes, condominiums and single-family homes, many on the golf course or on lakes. Its many small neighborhoods each have their own feel and their own price range, which is a big part of why The Plantation offers so much value.
Why Buyers Love The Plantation
- Value. Golf-course living at prices that are often below newer communities.
- Reasonable HOA fees. Many Plantation neighborhoods have lower fees than comparable golf communities. Always confirm the current fees for the specific home.
- Two championship courses right in the neighborhood.
- Choice of homes, from condos and villas to single-family homes.
- Location. Close to Venice shopping, medical care and the Venice beaches.
- Established setting with mature trees, lakes and green space.
Before You Buy
Each Plantation neighborhood has its own association, rules and fees, and some homes also pay master association fees. Ask for every fee in writing, check the flood zone, and decide whether you want a club membership before you make an offer. I’ll help you compare neighborhoods side by side.
